Air Jordan 1 Low

Inspired by the original that debuted in 1985, the Air Jordan 1 Low offers a clean, classic look that’s familiar yet always fresh. With an iconic design that pairs perfectly with any ‘fit, these kicks ensure you’ll always be on point.

After taking over the design process and helping save the Jordan brand in 1988 with the release of the Air Jordan 3s, Tinker Hatfield had a tall task in front of him when it came time to develop the next release in the Jordan brand product line. This time around, Hatfield went with a more practical approach while keeping some of the design elements from the Jordan 3s.

The Air Jordan 1 low sport a Nike Air logo on the heel, a Jump man logo on the tongue with the addition of the word Flight, a visible Air unit in the heel, and another Air unit in the forefoot just like the Jordan 3s did a year prior. Where things changed with the AJ 4s is the addition of over-molded mesh paneling, which was designed to increase breathability when compared to leather paneled sneakers. Dura buck was also added to the upper for the first time, along with a lacing system that allowed wearers to lace their shoes in a variety of different patterns.
