To make a delicious chocolate cake, follow this recipe:

,:Instructions

1 and 3/4 cups (220g) all-purpose flour

3/4 cup (65g) unsweetened cocoa powder

1 and 1/2 tsp baking powder

  1. 1 and 1/2 tsp baking soda

1 tsp salt

2 cups (400g) granulated sugar

2 large eggs, at room temperature

1 cup (240ml) whole milk

1/2 cup (120ml) vegetable oil

2 tsp vanilla extract

1 cup (240ml) boiling water

1 cup (240ml) buttermilk, at room temperature

Instructions:
1. Preheat and prepare pans: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans, or line them with parchment paper.
2. Mix dry ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and sugar. Mix well to ensure all dry ingredients are evenly combined.
3. Add wet ingredients: In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla extract until smooth. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, mixing until combined.
4. Add boiling water: Gradually add the boiling water, stirring slowly. The batter will become thin, but this is normal. Keep stirring until the water is fully incorporated, resulting in a smooth, loose batter.
5. Add buttermilk: Slowly mix in the buttermilk. This will add extra moisture and make the cake light and fluffy.
6. Bake the cake: Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans. Tap the pans gently to release any air bubbles. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cakes comes out clean. Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
7. Prepare frosting (optional): While the cake cools, you can prepare your favorite frosting. A classic chocolate buttercream or ganache pairs well with this rich chocolate cake.
8. Assemble the cake: Once the cakes have cooled, frost the top of one layer, then place the second layer on top. Frost the entire cake, and decorate as desired.
9. Serve and enjoy: Slice the cake and serve! This chocolate cake pairs wonderfully with a glass of cold milk or coffee.
